Processing and Regulating Emotions
The aim of the course is to improve recovering people's understanding of emotions, and ability to process and regulate them, which will support them to maintain their successful recovery from problematic substance use and progress towards further learning, volunteering or employment. The course will include development of key critical reasoning and coping skills, which are a vital precursor for successfully maintaining recovery and engaging with learning/work. Attendees will gain insight into the survival functions of emotions and how attitudes towards, or judgements of emotions influence ability to cope with them, developing confidence, improving thinking skills and enhancing employability.
