Digital Skills Workshop

Course Aims - What you will learn? As part of our approach to supporting learners to develop essential skills for life, confidence and work, this digital skills workshop is designed for beginners. You will be able to start from the beginning and will learn about: Different digital devices and be able to chose which is the best one to use for a task. Email and the Internet. Keeping yourself, your family and your device safe. The workshop will also introduce you to some of the skills needed for work such as being able to create, save and update documents and presentations. As well as learning the core digital skills, by working independently and in small groups with your tutor, you will develop your wider skills such as: Problem solving. Team working. Communication skills. Study skills. How you will be taught, and your understanding checked? Your tutor will work with you to understand what you know already and what you want to be able to do. They will agree a learning plan for you to work towards. The workshop will be a mixture of whole class teaching, independent study activity and small group work, all supported by your tutor. Your tutor will talk to you about your progress and will give you feedback to help you continue to develop your skills and knowledge. Progression - What you will be able to do next? On successful competition of the core modules, your tutor will talk to you about your progress and achievements. They will help you to decide what to do next, for example: Continue your studies. Start to learn another subject. Look for work or volunteering opportunities. Use your new skills in everyday life.
