GCCC Drawing for Wellbeing

A supportive, fun, relaxing and creative online course. Practicing art has been acknowledged to have positive impacts on physical, mental and emotional health and wellbeing. In this course you will experience guided, mindful drawing activities, focused on the process of creation, rather than a fixed outcome, whilst also developing your drawing skills, techniques and experience. Activities will include abstract drawing from different starting points, zentangles, mandalas and experimental mark making. Some of the learning outcomes you will work towards over the 6 weekly sessions include; Identify relaxing & calming art techniques which could be used independently Experiment with at least 4 formal elements of art such as line, shape, scale, pattern, texture, colour Create a portfolio of drawings from guidance and simple starting points Explain the impacts on wellbeing and mood of gentle, mindful drawing techniques You don't need to have any experience of drawing. All you'll need for the session is: Coloured pens or pencils Paper or sketchbook
