Basic Woodwork (Monday) HT3 21-22

Five sessions: This course runs every Monday from 17th January - 14th February 2022 from 9.30am - 3.30pm For complete beginners and those looking for a refresher. \u8239? WEEK 1 Welcome to Learning session* \u8239? WEEKS 2 - 5 \u8239?- Safe use of common hand tools - How to measure wood for a project - Simple joints and fixings \u8239? The course is taught by a time-served carpenter and you will complete: \u8239?- A bird box - A simple garden bench - Maybe an extension activity using recycled wood \u8239? This course is FREE if you are in receipt of income-related benefits or have a salary below \'a317,374.50 (based on full time per annum). Otherwise it is \'a375, or \'a320.00 for those over state pension age and in receipt of state pension. Evidence of benefits/pension must be provided before the course starts. \u8239? There is a small charge of \'a310.00 for materials. \u8239? In this session we will introduce you to the Hollybush site, your tutor and other learners.\u8239? The day will also include free tea and cake in our friendly community caf\'e9.\u8239? If you have already done one of these sessions, you can join our course in Week 2.
